SYNOPTIC RESEARCH RESULTS
IN THE HISTORY OF MEDICINE
Our contribution in the History of Medicine, in the History of Sciences and generally in the History of 18th - 19th centuries, constitute the research results, which are listed in our studies and synoptically mentioned further below:

1.
     Discovering an original text of Rhigas Velestinlis' "Φυσικής Απάνθισμα" (Anthology of Physics), Wien, 1790", the French Encyclopedia of Diderot and D' Alabert, which was unknown up to our research.
2.
     Presentation Rhigas Velestinlis' medical knowledge, which is included in his book "Φυσικής Απάνθισμα" (Anthology of physics), Wien 1790. In this book the circulation of blood was referred, which is considered by our researches as the first mentioned in a Greek book.
3.
     Discovering the source of John Nikolidis' text, «Ιατροπρακτική διδασκαλία περί του γαλλικού πάθους ήγουν μαλαφράντζας του Σταίρκ» (Medicopractical teaching regarding the French malady or malafrantza), Wien 1794, which was also unknown up to our research.
4.
     Presentation of certain facts from the Archives of the University of Wien regarding Dr. John Nikolidis, writer of the book regarding venereal diseases, 1794.
5.
     Discovering the originality of the medical subjects, which are included in Nikiforos Theotokis' book «Στοιχεία Φυσικής» (Elements of Physics), Lipsia 1757, and Eugenios Boulgaris' book, «Τα αρέσκοντα τοις φιλοσόφοις» (Τhe likings of philosophers), Wien 1805.

     Conclusion of our research is that the medical European knowledge was transferred to the Hellenic region by books in approximately 6 years time.
7.
     Contribution to the Hellenic Bibliography with the locating and publishing of the non bibliographic text of 1815 for protection from plaque by Dr. Georgios Kozakis Typaldos.

     The first anatomical figures in Greek books were published in Gazis' book, «Γραμματική των φιλοσοφικών Επιστημών» (Grammar of Philosophical Sciences), Wien 1799.
9.
     Presentation Anth. Gazis' knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, which are included in his books of 1799 and 1801.
10.
     The knowledge, that oxygen is an essential element in respiration was presented for the first time in the Greek book «Γραμματική των φιλοσοφικών Επιστημών» (Grammar of Philosophical Sciences), Wien 1799.
11.
     Through our research was found «Η πρώτη Iστορία της Ιατρικής στην ελληνική γλώσσα» (The fist History of Medicine in Greek Language), which was published in the book with the title «Διαιτητική» (Diaetitiki), Wien 1794, of Dr. Const. Michael, for whom new facts were presented.
12.
     Through our research medical Greek terms were found, which were written in texts of the epoch of Neohellenic Enlightenment and since have been established in the Greek Medical Terminology.
13.
     The medical dissertation of Alexandros Maurocordatos of ex-Aporiton, which was in Latin, has been translated and presented with comments for the first time in Greek.
14.
     Contribution to the Hellenic Bibliography by the presentation of Manouel Sarris Tenedios' text «Περί ζυμώσεως» (About Fermentation), Wien 1799.
15.
     It was proved. that the new knowledge of the vaccination against the epidemic disease smallpox, which was adopted in 1798, soon had passed to the Greek region
16.
     The texts of pro-revolutionary journal «Eρμής ο Λόγιος» (Hermes the Logios) 1816 and 1817 regarding the bringing up of infants it is ascertained that they are considered as the first Greek pediatrician texts of the Neohellenic Enlightenment.
17.
     The first book of physiology in the Greek language «Εγχειρίδιον της των ζώων οικονομίας» (Manual of the animal eoconomy), Venetia 1798, by Dr. Kir. Cheretis was presented.
18.
     The first mention of red blood cells was ascertained in a Greek dissertation by Thomas Mandacasis, "Ομοια των ελλειπόντων ομοίων ιάματα» (De sibilibus similium deficientium medicina), Lipsia 1757.
19.
     An anonymous manuscript of History of Medicine, which is mentioned by John Karas, was identified as a text of History of Medicine by Const. Michael, which was published in 1794.
20.
     List of medical books and books with medical subjects of the 18th and the beginning of 19th century.
21.
     The book of Dr. Stavros Moulaimes "Antidotariun", Venice 1724, is considered as the first Greek medical book of modern times.
22.
     Presentation of the first trial of medicine efficacy by Galen.
23.
     Synoptic presentation in child references in the Hippocratic Collection.
24.
     Composition for the first time of the Hellenic Bibliography of the History of Medicine.
25.
     Detecting in a code of 1812 the medical subjects of Rhigas’ book "Physics anthology" Vienna 1790.
26.
     Documentation of the prototype German book, its writer and the Greek translator of the anonymous Greek book "Popular Physics to pause superstitions", which was printed in Vienna in 1810.
27.
     Discovery of an autograph diary of Antimos Gazis of the years 1802 and 1809.
28.
     Detecting an unknown manuscript with popular medicine "Iatrisophion" of 1776.
